AfriBusiness successful: Court delivers judgement in Pienaarspoort case

The business rights watchdog AfriBusiness welcomes the North Gauteng High Court’s decision in the urgent application to evict unlawful occupiers in Pienaarspoort. The court order determines that the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the local sheriff must evict all unlawful occupiers from the land with immediate effect.

“We are overjoyed that the court ruled in favour of the property owners. The rule of law once again triumphed and we will continue to assist our members where such transgressions take place,” says Charles Castle, Manager of the Labour Law Advice Unit at AfriBusiness.

“As long as AfriBusiness can assist property owners in such cases, we will fight for the protection of their rights as contemplated by section 25 of the Constitution,” says Armand Greyling, Law and Policy Analyst at AfriBusiness.
