Illegal Water Levy Collections against Farmers

Farmers in Limpopo are facing unfair and illegal water levies because proper measurements are not being conducted, and water levies are being treated as a tax. Farmers are being prompted to settle accounts as old as 7 years, which were never properly issued. Sakeliga, with TLU as a litigation partner, is preparing to litigate to prevent water consumption from being treated as a tax and to ensure that collection tactics are not applied to accounts that have already prescribed.
