Remove obstructions to alternative electricity

September 23, 2022

REMOVE OBSTRCUTIONS TO ALTERNATIVE ELECTRICITY

Support This CaseBring obstructions to our attention

Why this case?

Sakeliga is currently investigating options for legal action to remove obstructions to alternative electricity in South Africa. We invite business people and others, who have concrete needs for legal assistance on a principled basis, to approach us.

The large-scale power outages are a man-made crisis. The cause of the crisis is obstruction of private electricity supply, perpetrated by the state at legislative and executive level. Without such obstructions, in South Africa, as in many places elsewhere in the world, there would be sufficient energy and the level of prosperity would be drastically higher.

The standing invitation is addressed to business people, other members of the public, or government bodies if they make concrete efforts to generate, distribute, sell, or purchase alternative electricity, but are hindered from doing so because of unreasonable or otherwise unconstitutional legislative or executive obstructions. Subject to the advice of our legal team as to whether the obstructions are indeed unreasonable from a legal point of view or otherwise unconstitutional, we will enter into discussions with such parties to launch legal action or offer other support as urgently as possible.
