Sakeliga accepts donation from Who Wants to be a Millionaire
Sakeliga receives with gratitude a donation of R10 000 from Theunis Strydom and Wie Word ’n Miljoenêr (the Afrikaans edition of Who Wants to be a Millionaire).
Strydom, a financial journalist and biographer, nominated Sakeliga as the recipient of his winnings in a special episode of kykNET‘s Wie Word ’n Miljoenêr. In this episode, broadcast on 6 November 2024, participants competed to support a deserving non-profit organisation of their choice.
Strydom said he had nominated Sakeliga for the good work we do in cases of state failure and in particular our interventions to restore order in towns and dysfunctional municipalities.
Sakeliga's Mission: Building Scalable Solutions to State Failure
- Join thousands of dedicated, mission-aligned funders
- Protect our communities from a failing state
- Secure a flourishing economy in the place you love
We express Sakeliga’s appreciation to Strydom, kykNET, and Wie Word ’n Miljoenêr for the contribution. Strydom is a seasoned observer of the business environment in South Africa and from his nomination we take encouragement to continue our mission for a flourishing economic order.
In addition to his experience as a financial journalist, Strydom has in recent years gained recognition with three biographical works of remarkable business people and businesses. His latest book (October 2024) is Capitec: Stalking Giants, about the rise and impact of this unusual bank with its almost unparalleled growth. Previous works include Koos Bekker’s Billions (2022) and Christo Wiese: Risk and Riches (2019).
